Are you ready to take on real-world challenges using EU Space technologies? The 12th CASSINI Hackathon is approaching. Happening across 10 different European locations from November 27-29, 2026, this hackathon will give innovators a chance to leverage EU space assets like Copernicus, Galileo, EGNOS, and IRIS2 to solve challenges close to customers from different domains.

Meet the 10 Local Organisers hosting the Hackathon
For the 12th edition, 10 local organisers will host the event in their regions. Each organiser brings unique expertise and a strong local ecosystem, helping to transform participants' ideas into impactful solutions.
Here are the selected local organisers:
1. Risk Space Transfer - Technology Transfer Office, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Bulgaria
RST-TTO (Risk Space Transfer – Technology Transfer Office) promotes the adoption of Earth Observation and space technologies across sectors including security, emergency management, environmental protection, and urban planning. Established by research institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, it plays an active role in the Copernicus ecosystem and supports collaboration between research and industry. With extensive experience organising space and defence-focused hackathons, RST-TTO provides participants with direct access to space experts, innovation networks, and practical applications of EU space technologies.
2. Prague Innovation Institute, Czech Republic
Prague Innovation Institute is the innovation agency of the City of Prague, working to strengthen the region’s startup, research, and technology ecosystem. Active in areas such as space technologies, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and dual-use innovation, it connects entrepreneurs with public and private stakeholders. Located in the home city of EUSPA, the institute offers participants access to a thriving innovation community and valuable expertise in space-enabled entrepreneurship.
3. Ultrahack, Finland
Ultrahack is a global leader in open innovation challenges and hackathons, helping organisations accelerate innovation through collaboration and entrepreneurship. Since 2015, it has organised hundreds of programmes across Europe and beyond, building a community of more than 10,000 developers, innovators, and startup founders. Its experience in delivering previous CASSINI events makes it an ideal environment for teams transforming space data into impactful solutions.
4. CESAH, Germany
Based in Darmstadt, CESAH is one of Germany’s leading space entrepreneurship organisations and operates the ESA Business Incubation Centre in Hesse. It supports startups, innovators, and investors through mentoring, market expertise, and access to the regional space ecosystem. With a strong belief in open innovation and extensive hackathon experience, CESAH offers participants valuable connections and pathways to future startup development.
5. National College of Ireland, Ireland
Located in the heart of Dublin’s technology district, the National College of Ireland combines academic excellence with strong industry engagement. Through its computing, business, and innovation programmes, it supports the development of entrepreneurial and digital skills while fostering collaboration between students, researchers, and industry. Building on its experience hosting international hackathons, NCI provides participants with access to a vibrant innovation ecosystem and emerging opportunities within Ireland’s growing space sector.
6. Pro.M.Oda, Italy
Pro.M.Oda is an engineering and innovation company based in Turin, one of Europe’s leading aerospace and defence hubs. Working across advanced engineering, resilience, and security technologies, it supports the development of innovative solutions for critical sectors. Surrounded by world-class universities, research centres, and aerospace companies, Pro.M.Oda offers participants an ideal setting to explore space-enabled solutions for Europe’s security and resilience challenges.
7. Tech-Park Kaunas, Lithuania
Tech-Park Kaunas is one of Lithuania’s leading innovation hubs, supporting startups and technology-driven businesses through incubation, acceleration, and internationalisation programmes. Active in fields such as cybersecurity, deep-tech, ICT, and space applications, it connects researchers, entrepreneurs, and public institutions within a strong innovation ecosystem. Participants will benefit from access to experienced mentors, international networks, and opportunities to further develop their solutions beyond the hackathon.
8. Blue Dot Solutions, Poland
Blue Dot Solutions is a Polish space-sector company specialising in the practical use of satellite data and the development of space-enabled innovations. Through its internationally recognised Space3ac accelerator, it has supported more than 150 startups with mentoring, investment opportunities, and market access. By combining space-sector expertise with hands-on startup experience, Blue Dot Solutions provides participants with valuable guidance on transforming innovative ideas into scalable businesses.
9. Romanian Tech Startups Association, Romania
The Romanian Tech Startups Association (ROTSA) is a leading organisation supporting technology entrepreneurship and startup growth across Romania. Working closely with accelerators, investors, and European innovation networks, it helps connect emerging companies with funding, expertise, and market opportunities. Its strong involvement in defence and dual-use innovation initiatives makes it a natural environment for teams developing solutions at the intersection of space, security, and resilience.
10. METALAB, Ukraine
METALAB is an urban innovation laboratory based within the Promprylad innovation campus in Ivano-Frankivsk. Bringing together technology, design, education, and entrepreneurship, it creates opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and experimentation. Following its successful organisation of a previous CASSINI Hackathon, METALAB continues to strengthen Ukraine’s innovation ecosystem by providing participants with a dynamic environment to develop impactful space-enabled solutions.
Shape the future of Defence & Security with EU Space technology:
The 12th CASSINI Hackathon offers the opportunity to develop impactful solutions that can shape how we experience everyday topic in Europe. Participants will tackle three major challenges during the event, all designed to make use of EU Space technologies.
- Challenge 1: Cybersecurity for space-based strategic enablers: Leverage GNSS and Earth observation data to strengthen the cyber-resilience of critical services and infrastructures.
- Challenge 2: Space-enabled crisis response and civil resilience: Rethink the way we tackle crisis response and resilience using space data.
Challenge 3: Countering transnational crime and terrorism with space data: Develop space-based solution for anticipating, tracking and responding to security threats across borders.
