Join the Hackathon in Sofia!
Can you create solutions using space technology to help strengthen Europe’s security? The 5th CASSINI Hackathon is open for entries.
Be inspired by experts, learn to access data from Copernicus, EGNOS and Galileo, and connect with a team to build your solution. There are three challenges on the theme of defence and security:
- Enabling cross-terrain mobility
- Making the seas more secure
- Protecting our critical infrastructure

The vision of our Bulgarian organiser is to strengthen links between science and business, supporting the use of space data in a wide range of industries. This edition of the Hackathon offers participants access to experts from the Centre for National Security and Defence Research, and more.
Join us in Sofia between Friday 24th and Sunday 26th of March. All you need is an interest in space technology – and the motivation to develop a winning idea. There are local and international prizes for the best teams… giving the winners the support they need to launch their ventures!

The Risk Space Transfer – Technology Transfer Office (RST-TTO) was created in 2012 as a joint venture of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences: the Space Research and Technology Institute and the Center for National Security and Defence Research.
Their mission is simple: RST-TTO aims to increase awareness of Earth Observation technologies and support data-based solutions in sectors including security, environmental protection, urban and regional planning, transport, and climate change. To achieve this, the organisation is working to strengthen links between the science and business communities in Bulgaria – promoting EU space initiatives and programmes.
Don’t miss your opportunity to learn about the thriving space-tech industry in Bulgaria – and develop your own solution with a team of professionals. Register now!
